DATA SLAVE

2021

Today we face limits by the algorithms that we have set within a large amount of information and lose our knowledge of right and wrong. In these societies, we crave a greater amount of data while facing a variety of mental illness and social issues such as quotaism, ADHD, and extreme depression. As a result, experts say that reckless data volumes should be viewed critically, restricted, or taxed. Buckminster Fuller researched and referred to the concept of 'Energy Slaves' in the 1940s by converting the amount of energy used in machines into units of labor, compared to human labor and energy. He likened the problems of modern energy production, consumption systems, or the gap between rich and poor to slavery in the past, and based on this, "Data Slaves" present a future situation in which data is obtained through labor. Modern sociologists predict that data inequality will continue in the future, leading to another gap between rich and poor. It is argued that young people with good learning and creativity will be the mainstay of society, while older people will be relatively culled, thereby changing the shape of the profession and increasing the unemployment rate. What would be the most dramatic form of labor in this society, assuming that humans have to work to get data? Can energy be produced directly through biological machines like bioelectric animals, converting the amount of energy into units of labor, and thus providing data as a daily wage? Many biologists are currently studying various biocompatible power generation devices that create powerful electricity in the body, such as bioelectric animals, to self-charge small devices in the body. As such, "Data Slaves" study a new level of labor that would be used in future scenarios in which humans produce electricity in their living bodies and propose a dystopian scenario. The machine is responsible for converting biological electrical and energy into data. Assuming that people's bodies generate their own powerful electricity in the future, it is a dystopian machine that sends its current to the machine as a fad among unemployed people who are expected to be neglected in society and translates it into that amount of data. It also created a virtual state called Datatopia, which virtually directed the society.
