Céline Minkyung Park is a speculative designer and the founder of Céline Park Studio, Céline Park Gallery and Eyelove Art Center in Seoul, South Korea. She constantly moves to Europe from Korea to develop her work in progress and to exhibit them. She also gives lectures at different organisations including universities, museums and etc in Europe and Korea.


As a Korean she was raised and educated in France, Canada, and the United States. After achieving her MA degree at Royal College of Art in the design interactions programme, she has exhibited her work at the V&A museum in London, Busan International Short Film Festival in Busan, Centre Culture Coréen and a few more places.


Throughout her previous years as a designer, she has used multiple methodologies. She obtained a graphic design, film, photography, and fine art background. And therefore, she drew on these experiences to suit the specific subjects in her work. She interrogates perceptions of cultural and social constructs that exist in society. In most circumstances, she creates speculative scenarios around social hierarchy to explore individual experiences that people go through. The scenarios that she creates are usually polarised dystopian or utopian ones and can sit in the future, the past as a counterfactual scenario or the present. An underlying objective of her projects is to remind people that culture can unconsciously manipulate us and that it is always important to look through all the layers of a subject.


Céline Park Studio encourages and invites experts from diverse backgrounds to work collaboratively through design. We mainly use design fiction and speculative design proposals to challenge assumptions, and to create art concepts by reinterpreting a certain time period or events.


Céline Park Gallery exhibit only designers' projects who particularly study and challenge their work in broad design terms. Speculative designers like Celine Park, Owen Wells, Soomi Park, and sustainable designer, Soowon Chai have previously exhibited at the gallery. The gallery is located in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea.


Eyelove Art Center invites diverse designers and artists and makes multiple events. Céline is currently running the art center.





셀린 박은 대한민국 서울특별시의 셀린박 스튜디오, 셀린박 갤러리, 아이러브아트센터의 설립자이자 대표 디자이너이다. 그녀는 진행 중인 작품을 개발하고 전시하기 위해 한국에서 유럽으로 끊임없이 이주한다. 그녀는 또한 유럽과 한국의 대학, 박물관 등을 포함한 여러 기관에서 전시 및 강의를 하고 있다. 그녀는 한국인으로서 프랑스, 캐나다, 미국에서 자랐고 교육을 받고 자랐으며, 런던 왕립예술대학 디자인 인터랙션 프로그램에서 석사 학위를 받은 후, 런던의 V&A 박물관, 부산의 부산 국제 단편 영화제, 주 프랑스 한국 문화원 등 유럽과 한국을 중심적으로 작품을 전시하고 있다.

수년에 걸쳐 그녀는 디자이너로서 여러 가지 방법론을 사용해 왔다. 그녀는 그래픽 디자인, 영화, 사진, 미술 배경을 얻었다. 그래서, 그녀는 자신의 작품에서 특정한 주제에 맞게 이러한 경험들을 끌어냈습니다. 그녀는 사회에 존재하는 문화적, 사회적 구조에 대한 인식을 심문한다. 대부분의 상황에서, 그녀는 사람들이 겪는 개별적인 경험을 탐구하기 위해 사회 계층 주위에 추측 시나리오를 만듭니다. 그녀가 만드는 시나리오는 대개 양극화된 디스토피아적 또는 유토피아적 시나리오이며, 과거는 반사실적 시나리오 또는 현재로 미래에 존재할 수 있다. 그녀의 프로젝트의 근본적인 목표는 사람들에게 문화가 무의식적으로 우리를 조종할 수 있다는 것과 한 주제의 모든 층을 살펴보는 것이 항상 중요하다는 것을 상기시키는 것이다.

셀린박스튜디오는 다양한 배경의 전문가들이 디자인을 통해 협업할 수 있도록 격려하고 초청한다. 우리는 주로 디자인 픽션과 추측 디자인 제안을 사용하여 가정에 도전하고, 특정 기간이나 사건을 재해석하여 예술 개념을 창조한다. 


셀린박 갤러리는 광범위한 설계 용어로 작업을 연구하고 도전하는 디자이너 프로젝트만 전시되어 있다. 스페큘레이티브 디자이너인 셀린 박, 오웬 웰스, 수미 박과 지속 가능한 디자이너 채수원와 같은 투기적인 디자이너들의 작업을 갤러리에서 전시하고 있다. 


아이러브아트센터는 서울 강남 중심인 압구정동에 위치했고, 셀린박이 관장하여 다양한 이벤트 및 디자인과 예술의 영역을 강의, 공연, 전시 등 다양한 기획을 통해 확장시키고 있다.

During her exhibition, 'Possibility of Possibilities' she demonstrates projects that are related or based on the subject, 'The Objectum-Sexuals' -- there are four of her films and the objects or machines that she designed and made. The four main projects are 'The Object Right (2018)', 'The Object Marriage (2019)', 'The Object Signal (2019)', and 'The Object Matcher (2019)'.
